Relationships tend to bring out many different parts of ourselves. In group we aim to help unravel the complexities of ourselves through the therapeutic engagement of others. Using attachment, relational, psychodynamic theories while giving care to the many identities this group aims to help members reflect their inner thoughts, feelings, and desires that are not always suitable in the outside world without harming others. This could be sharing of difficult emotions, sudden urges, or unwanted thoughts. With support of the facilitators the members work with this material to understand and become more comfortable with all pieces of themselves and be able to engage in relationships in the group. Being a here and now group the experiences that get highlighted are the emotions, thoughts, and feelings between the members in the room at the present moment.

As difficult as groups are, these groups are aimed to help people not only be able to engage in relationships with others again, but more importantly be able to engage with themselves. They have become places of support and a feeling of home and a place that welcomes all emotions.

Although we want this to be open to all people we do ask for a commitment of three months. This is due to the impact that a new member leaving has on a group. The group meets weekly and it is expected that members come every week. Unlike individual therapy when a member does not show it impacts the rest of the group.
