Ari Fuller, Intern Therapist, (they/them)

My name is Ari Fuller (they/them), and I am a master’s student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Denver.  I got my BA in African American Studies and psychology from the University of South Carolina.  I am a therapist because I want to help people further develop and understand their own abilities to heal, adapt and grow.   I want to empower people to identify their values, experience their emotions with empathy and understanding, and consider different perspectives so that they can find relief from the stressors they may be experiencing.

In therapy (and really all aspects of life), I like to consider not only the things that have happened to us, but also the ways that existing in our larger society may have impacted the things that we have experienced and the way we see the world.  I appreciate the nuance that culture and identities bring into our lives and hope to create a space that allows you to exist in and honor all the things that make you who you are.  Let’s be curious about the things that make up your world and your story, and consider ways to help you continue to build your life in a way that is most authentic to you.
